Are you a safe chef?
It’s National Safety Month, and while we think it’s important to consider safety in the kitchen every day, now is a great time to really reconsider if you’re being a safe chef. One place it’s especially important to consider safety is in front of the grill. The grill can be a dangerous place for a chef who’s inexperienced, careless or distracted. We love the MyRecipes.com’s grill timer. It helps us know when to expect our food to be ready. So, not only are we grilling up a delicious meal, but we’re also made aware of when to cut the flame, and how ...

How Much Does A Kitchen Remodel Cost?
Posted on September 3, 2010 · Leave a CommentAccording to Consumer Reports, kitchen remodels are commonly divided into three categories: do-it-yourself remodels, semi-assembly remodels and complete kitchen remodels.
Based upon recent Consumer Report surveys, the three categories have an average cost associated with each of them. Typically, do-it-yourself projects average a total cost of $5,000. This is usually the case with small kitchens implementing a basic layout remodel.
Semi-assembly remodel costs average $15,000. While this remodel budget is a little more than that of a D-I-Y project, a lot of the project will still need to be self-managed. This budget may allow for a contractor to do minor framing or foundation work such as adding a window or removing a wall.
With an average cost of $50,000, full-scale remodels require the assistance of a general contractor. Full-scale remodels often include more expensive kitchen design materials and appliances.

The new washer from Frigidaire took four out of five spots in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR rankings. The ENERGY STAR ratings measure the washer’s water efficiency and the energy required to run the washer and heat the water used for a wash cycle.
